Large Retrofit of Community Landmark Monument Sign

It was quite an undertaking, but we transformed this enormous sign into a beautiful, modern landmark
that reflects the new Five Star brand, and blends in seamlessly with the architecture of the building
and its surroundings.
The existing 15’H x 24’W sign was built in 1960
and because of its size, location on Rt. 76,
and inspiring leaderboard messages, it had become a landmark in the town of Clarksville. Since
the sign was grandfathered in, we couldn’t make any
structural changes, but we worked with the town to
create a new design that enhanced
the look of this important town feature.
In addition to the new aluminum bleed body sign faces, built to cover the old carved out copy, we created a
base feature using TEXTURE PLUS faux stone panels. These panels were attached to an aluminum substrate
with adhesive and sealed with weathertight caulking.

facility in Massachusetts. A custom framing
surround was built specifically for these panels
and safely loaded onto a specialty carrier
for transporting to our local install team in TN.

Prior to installing the new faces, base and branding features, a local painting company cleaned, prepped, and painted portions of
the existing sign monument. When the
monument prep was complete, all new
sign components were mounted to the
existing structure.
The completed Main ID sign compliments the building colors and architecture,
enhancing the landscape features of this beautiful Senior Living Community.
